Hillsborough
They still fucking banging on about it!! Can't they accept they killed their own, they rob their own everyday ffs!! Juventus don't keep trying to get a free payout when it was obvious to everyone those scouse cunts caused the deaths!! Take a leaf out the Beatles song 'let it be'.

Agree. Cunts have been milking it for so long now and never take any small amount of responsibility for it, not to mention their murderous rampage at Heysel.

"Always the Victim, it's never your fault" is very appropriate

The jury this time are being given the opportunity to lay some blame at the door of the Scousers - let's see if they have the bottle/are allowed.

Re: Hillsborough
Isnt there a whole list of questions they are being asked to rule on?
One of which is whether the fans were illegally killed.

My view is that the deaths were caused by incompetent policing, poor stadium management and aggressive behaviour by feral Scousers.
It was wrong that the fans were blamed solely to start with and then equally wrong when it became completely the fault of the police.

Is it the same sort of jury which freed Steve Gerrard of assault despite CCTV showing him punching a DJ several times.

Re: Hillsborough
mate of mine was there.
he escaped through an unlocked door in the fence, screaming at the stewards what was happening.
They forced him back behind the fence and locked it.

Agreed. There are "fans" and there are "fans" though. I truly sympathise with those families who lost loved ones who had just attended a game of football with a ticket. They weren't at fault in any way and it must be horrendous for those families. Lets face it even if deep down those families partly blame the fans who turned up without tickets they can't exactly come out on their own and say it publicly.

Re: Hillsborough
Any dimlow that has seen the cctv footage of their fans turning up on mass at the last minute rushing the turnstiles knows that was a major cause of what happened.
Unwittingly of course...but an undeniable fact.
The fences and OB were the other causes.
Could have happened anywhere in the country..to any club..because that's the way things were back then.
Chelsea and Bates wanted their fences electrified for fuck sake!

Re: Hillsborough
Yes, of course.
I'm guessing all of those that died were innocent fans who had arrived early and were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I imagine most fans who attended games at that time would have stories of near misses with crushes.
But to completely ignore the role of other fans as I said is completely wrong. I can't recall a balanced view by Liverpool fans on what happened and they seem to regard ALL fans as innocent. Or just ignore the role of those involved in creating the crush.

Re: Hillsborough
Anybody but Liverpool and people would have so much more empathy.

But anyone other than Liverpool and it would have been a footnote in football tragedies. Same as all the others.

But people died. If my brother or son died in that I wouldn't care what a bunch of other fans thought in trying to seek justice regardless of the ultimate cause.

Waste of taxpayers money.

Fuck ups on both sides. Call it a draw, shake hands and move on.

Actually if my son had been crushed to death like that, I would want to speak one on one with each of them to tell them they are a murderer and ask them what the fuck they thought they were doing

Something that never gets mentioned as well is that there are people who survived who were the ones who were forced and pushed and were the ones next to the ones who died who've had to live with seeing someone crushed to death right in front of them and have spent years seeing that image and probably feeling guilty for it even though they could do nothing

For me, the situation was handled terribly by people who were horrendously overwhelmed by what was happening and had no idea what to do. But the root cause was the idiots rushing the gates.

Do you think there will be anyone brave enough within either politics, media or football who will actually get some balls and say "Enough is enough now."?

Sniper. I make you right. It was horrible what happened. No person deserves to die or see anyone die at a football match. But I think it's been found that the police acted negligently.

The Scousers got there whitewash before. They got what they wanted. All the police's fault and all scousers at the game completely and utterly exonerated.

Now they want them all personally found negligent. It's just rinsing it for everything its worth. What else do they want?

Couldn't have put it any better.

They also rushed the gates in Istanbul for the Champions league final. Will they never learn

I think that this is more to do with the cover-up by the old bill after the event, not what actually happened during it.

Re: Hillsborough
Eddie although you are 100% right, where has anyone in the media, other than the sun the week after, ever actually said what the fans without tickets did?

all of that seems to be forgotten and they are trying to blame it on a couple of police officers who decided to open the gates as those ticketless fans were getting crushed outside...... the irony

Thanks Eddie.

Cannot believe a forum full of supposedly proud working class football supporters would be taking the side they are on this.

If it was West Ham fans who died that day then we'd sure as shit still be going on about it and rightly so.

"For me, the situation was handled terribly by people who were horrendously overwhelmed by what was happening and had no idea what to do. But the root cause was the idiots rushing the gates."

Bang on. I don't think anyone feels the police never handled it well. But, as you say, the officers outside were ill-prepared both in resource and know-how and completely over-whelmed by the situation.

But, the root cause was the rushing of the gates and that is the point that annoys a lot of other football fans and why this is now not getting the support from outside Liverpool. People are annoyed at the white-wash they got and sick of it rumbling on and on.
